I love a good story.

Before I could even write, I was dictating tales to my mom at the kitchen table, illustrating the worlds I dreamed up. In elementary school, I won two Young Authors contests. In high school, I was a theater kid and speech nerd — always chasing the right words, the right moment, the right way to make people feel something.

I went to journalism school to become the next Katie Couric. But as managing editor of the Daily Nebraskan, I realized I didn’t just want to tell stories … I wanted to shape them. I loved the editor’s pen, the strategy behind the story, the way framing and focus could make words matter more.

I started my career at newspapers, where I learned that authenticity and trust are everything. Eventually, I traded newsrooms for marketing boardrooms, but my love for storytelling never changed. I’ve found that the best brands aren’t built on flashy campaigns or empty promises — they’re built on real people, real stories and real connection.

Marketing is strategic, but the best marketing has heart. That’s what I do. I build brands that work harder — because they mean something.

Let’s get nerdy

I’m a bit of a nerd about what makes people tick — especially when it comes to CliftonStrengths. I love digging into what drives us, how we work best, and how we bring our strengths to the table. Mine? They shape what I do, from the way I build brands to the way I lead teams. Knowing your strengths isn’t just insightful; it’s a superpower.

  • I raise the bar for myself every day. I’m driven by results, and there’s no need to motivate with competition — I do that all by myself.

  • I’m a deep thinker, and I’m constantly curious. I plow through books, articles and podcasts. If we have a conversation, it will never just be about the weather.

  • I work smarter, not harder. This is good news for your marketing budgets. In management, I’m also known to bring out the very best in my team.

  • I’m a collector — not of things, but of ideas and information. My brain is basically an encyclopedia of fun facts, stories and strategies, all filed away for the perfect moment.

  • I see the bright side even in challenging situations, which in turn lifts team morale and creates a culture where every individual feels empowered to push boundaries and contribute their best.
